If it is new 485 filing then you don't have A#.
A# on I-140 is nothing do with your 485.
Its has everything to do with 485 if its the alien # alloted to you at 140 stage and begins with a 0 (zero) thats your permanent alient number wont change for life.
But as far as not mentioning it is no big deal as your paperwork includes I140 copy or original whatever and shouldnt have any negative impact on the filing.

hi,
thanks to everyone here for the kind input, I am almost done with my GC application under NIW. Since I have a load of documents for primary evidence,
how should I arrange them and where should I mention the "table of contents" so to speak. I have a detailed cover letter also.

My current company's CEO is retiring and the other partners are forming a new company. The current company will continue as a corporation and in the new corporation the current CEO will have 10% share. The new co will start with the current client base, employees, equipment, web site and use the current company's name as a DBA.
I am on H1-B visa with the current company and in the process for Permanent Residency with my I-140 approved and awaiting for the Priority Date to become current .
If the current company terminated me and i got re-hired with the new co.. what would i need to do for my H1-B visa and the Green card process. Please advice ASAP.

If its a new company, you need to do H1B transfer and start the GC from PERM. If the I-140 is not revoked, you can retain the PD.

Our main obstacle is the US laws themselves, because the present laws forbid us from doing anything on our own. If I wanted to make facebook, US laws would say, hey, go back home and come back on an EB5. Of course, we cant do that. So your laws are being ridiculous

Best thing would be to get there and explain your situation to the visa officers or front desk staff. Explain them you made a honest mistake and see if your appt can still be accomodated. Try to convince them somehow, tell about your travel plans, say job is in line if you don't get back in time etc and hope they honor your request. Anyway, Good Luck.

I dont think this is going to affect non immigrant community (read as H1s, GC etc). This is all about politics to gain the support of rich and influential Indian American community for the DNC and upcoming elections.

and have a following question:
Item#36 : "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant visa petition on your Behalf?".
Here is my situation:

Myself -> H1B
My wife, kid -> H4
Applied for I-485 last year ( all 3 of us ).
Question:
For me, I understand that I say "yes" and mention name of my employer.
But for my wife+kid, I say "yes", but what should I fill for "who" part?
Also, Item#33 for my kid (2nd grade), should answer to "Do you intend to study
in US" be YES or NO ? ( my guess is YES, and name of the elementary school?)

Guys,
I sent my 485/ead/ap filing fee as one cashiers check.
This Cashiers check was created in end of June 2007 ( generaly validity till Sept 07 (90 days). Application was mailed in end of July by Attorney.
Now based on general application process, i am worried about my cashiers check being invalid before USCIS cashes the check and they may cancel the application.
Has anyone else had such an issue, & what is solution to this problem.
Please suggest.
