I use TunesArt (http://www.jibapps.com/products/tunesart/). It's an iTunes plugin that lets you know what song is currently playing and can fetch up lyrics automatically. It can do a lot more too.

First i would like to say, The family messaging plan does qualify for the needed "messaging plan". Second i have found this to be a great money saver, we were on a 1400 min plan, and were able to drop to the 700 min plan, and still get the same features, but save $20 a month :) Also if you have A list on your 1400 + plan you don't need it because this does cover everyone :). Just thought id share my information, have fun with your new savings!

WRONG! FCP is definitely not the industry standard. It gained a lot of traction in market share from Avid but has since regressed its gains over the last several years.A lot of people seem to be ditching FCP because of the bugs and moving back to Premier. I think the ability to work seamlessly between Adobe products is a big advantage as well.

In my mind it's still free. No it's not freeware but you can use it and get some productivity out of it even if it's only for a limited time. Thus free.

Samsung know they are in trouble with the Apple suits, and rightly so. But instead of just defending the suit against them, they are making stuff up to get back at Apple.

you really should go look up how it works before you start insulting us.
I was not talking crap. That little tid pit I put in about the filing only if getting pissed off and sued came form our resident patent lawyer on these boards who explain why many times you only see law suits after they get sued. They go into the file if sued by so and so bring these up.
That is why many of these patents are filed away and never really sued unless antoher company starts pissing you off or acting childish like Apple. It gives you more leverage to use against them in their lawsuit against you.
I do find it funny. Fanboys cheered when Apple sued Samsung but Samsung responds and now called Samsung childish.
Fanboys call Kodak pantint trolls when they sued apple.
Fanboys cheer when Apple sued Nokia but booed about Nokia sueing apple.
Noticed a pattern there.

I don't expect special treatment. Any dotmac user has the ability to petition Apple for a free year of service to compensate for reliability issues. I'm not pulling a fast one on Apple. It was their decision to give me a free year, and if they do it again it will also be their decision.
If they won't give me a free year as a gesture of goodwill, I am free to make my own decisions based on theirs.
There's nothing special about it. Just dealing with customer service.

A parent shouldn't treat a son like a child until they're 18years and then from their 18th birthday treat them as an adult.

I'm considering going back to pay as you go. Really. My phone is used least for talking. And although I like to have my apps and internet, it's not worth the $75/month I'm paying for some youtube videos or surfing the web while waiting in the car. Google Voice + buying minutes = WINNING for me. I'll simply sell my iPhone and buy an iPod touch. I'm really hating AT&T right now. I may do something rash today.

On to your questions..
Can I use a Sata drive run from a PCI Sata controller card as the boot drive?
Yes you can. I am booted from a SATA drive on a PCI card as I type this. For your needs I recommend the 4 channel PCI SATA card FirmTek sells.
Will the power supply be up to running 6 hard drives inside? (4 in standard locations and one in each 5.25 bay)
Yes. The Dual 867 has a 400 Watt PSU and can easily handle 6 drives. All modern drives consume around 12-15 Watts so even 6 would only be around 75-90 Watts. Unless you want to use more than one SATA PCI card you will have to make 2 of the drives PATA.
Are there any perennial issues with this model I should look out for?
The MDD is the most troublesome G4 tower but keep in mind the repair/recall on these was only for about 6% of them which is very good compared to G5 towers that range from 11-32% of systems needing repair. I have owned 2 MDD in the past and based on that and other research I have done the Dual 867MHz is the most rock solid of them all. The MDD's main issues were fan noise and some of the PSU's die after just a few years. There are a few guides around though on how to rig a standard 24 pin ATX PSU to power an MDD.
Considering it's about 8 years old now and still running you definitely have a good one.
I want to give it a good going over before I get it up and running. I was going to clean and reapply Arctic silver to the CPU/heatsink interface, upgrade to 2Gb RAM, replace the rather noisy fan with a higher CFM quieter version and anything else you guys can recommend
