It's Western Digital. Enough said. Take it back and get Seagate of any kind.

I have an Apple BT mouse and it really is great. The response time is very good and I've gotten use to the one button over two. Actually, I've gotten more use to keyboard commands that take place of the right click in many cases.
I looked at the Bluetake 500 that you have McGarry...looks pretty good...how much?

I remember exactly where I was when I heard that. I shot home after work for the news. Walther Cronkite always handled pain so well.

Thanks. Is there a particular reason it did it though?
Who knows? I wouldn't worry about it, unless it happens frequently.

no argument here - but i hate the fact android manufacturers are restricting their phones with encrypted bootloaders etc (motorola, and now htc) which definitely affects being able to flash your device with whatever. not to mention with att's android devices you have to root them to even be able to install the amazon market due to even more restrictions. also waiting forever for the latest android update to go from google -> manufacturer -> mobile provider -> customer... with each putting their own crapware on it
if i ever make the switch, it will hopefully be to a google released and supported phone on at&t. i know the nexus s is a samsung device, but at least it receives pushed google updates.
but i feel you, i get frustrated with all of this too. if it wasnt for jbing, i would have ditched the phone long ago.
Yeh, some manufacturers are making it harder to Root, but Root DOESN'T equal Jailbreak. The Android os (speaking on 2.3) has built in hotspot, built in widgets, built in moving backgrounds, built in customizable screens, built in facebook, built in lock screen custimization, built in keyboards, systemwide voice activation, etc. There are things that people want to jailbreak for, and in Android OS you don't have to ROOT to do any of that.

I've got one that has a small dead area on the screen because I let my little girl use it as a teething toy. Probably some sort of water damage. If ur interested let me know & maybe we can work something out.

Yeah, I feel like if the Marketplace limitations weren't put into place ... this would be a scam waiting to happen.
Sorry, if you honestly wanted to talk about OS X, iOS, and Apple in general. :o

Just wondering other ppl's experience with Firefox 4 on the MBA, I still use 3.6.17 and it's been great except for the Flash/YouTube fan issue.
Does the upgrade fix the issue by any chance? Any reason why I should not upgrade?

PDF does not allow for the complexity possible with a web site. That route is just never going to work.
And if the web-site was written so as to only work in IE, then you are stuck there. And you should be careful, since a portion of the sites coded specifically for IE 6 will fall apart in any other browser, including newer versions of IE.

Process 2 on my G4 is having the same issue
It is getting a 404 error on that process, and it won't turn in my previous work unit. All IP and internet connectivity is doing well. I will see if Process 1 runs into the same problem when it is completed.

I run VPC6 with XP pro on my tiBook and the performance is o.k. (and it's super stable too)... it runs fine if you turn off all eye candy and delete and deinstall all the stuff you don't need.
the GUI will look like Win98 then...

It's the iPhone man.
Clearly not otherwise the rest of the world would also be having dropped calls. We don't get any noticeable dropped calls from the i4 over here.

Yeah, it sounds confusing at first because you get high res screens so that you can fit more in your workspace. If my Apple introduced a MacBook with a higher resolution screen, but everything on my screen still had the same physical size, it sort of defeats the purpose. However, I think the point is that you can choose the size of the UI elements on your screen without making things look messed up. Right now, if you have an LCD, it has a native resolution. If you want everything to scale to a larger physical size, you'd have to turn down the resolution on the screen, which just messes the look of things.
So if you had a 1920 x 1200 MacBook screen, you can still make the UI elements the same size as they are now (ie: large and easy to see) on the 1280x800 screen. It would just appear sharper on higher res screens. But if you need the resolution and desktop space, you can have it too.
Well, this is what my understanding of this feature is. :o Correct me if I'm wrong.

Q: How are you seeing different opportunities in the large enterprises with your MacBook given the greater receptiveness to the iPhones and tablets. Is it opening doors to get Macs in?
A: Clearly seems to be creating a halo effort for the Mac. In part why we're seeing growth on the Mac side.
I am guilty to be contributing to this. If I had never bought my iPhone 3GS in October 2009 I would not be buying a 27" iMac this year at 2011 refresh as well as getting an iPad2 by year's end. I also will be upgrading to iPhone 5. So yes if it wasn't for the IOS device I wouldn't be helping the Mac revenue. The IOS devices are definitely bringing new customers for the Mac

Hey thanks for the information
I've just checked out the scanner you suggested, and odly enough (or maybe not that odd) its twice the price in the uk as it is in the USA. The cheapest I could find it for was 299 (roughtly$530) from a communications company I used to work for. I should be able to get a discount of 20% because I still know guys who work there.
The only thing that concerns me is that it says its only windows compatible. I've had a look at the system requirments on several websites, and on every one it says windows only.

Big screen TV's are a rip off...
Ummm...entertain me. Why do you think they're a rip off? (Keep in mind that "big" is a relative term. What do you consider a "big screen" TV? Thirty-two inches and up?)

I have acquired all of my music via legal means, (and I mean in the thousands). I understand that if I get more than 10 listeners at any given time I simply won't continue to broadcast.
Glad you're paying attention to this.
All you need is one listener who fingers you to the RIAA or other authority. Or one music-industry toady trolling this message board and looking to make an example of someone. It's good that your 20k+ songs were legally-procured, but you don't own their copyright (unless they're your own performances, in which case you've been a busy boy!). Broadcasting stuff whose copyright you don't own or haven't licensed over the Internet (or over a conventional radio station) raises licensing and royalty questions that you'd be wise to investigate before putting anything out there. Much depends on where you're located, but other issues such as your ISP's terms-and-conditions need to be considered too.
Just, be careful. That Nicecast stuff is way cool, and it sounds like tons of fun, but they put that legal commentary up for a reason. You may be exposing yourself and your family to some rather dire legal harm.
