I love these new UI touches.
But UI changes are not enough for me to spend $129 on alone. If it were $29 like Snow Leopard was, then that'd be different, but I highly doubt that'll happen this time around. Let's see some real features (ones that haven't been mentioned yet).

Uh ? GNU is a project, not a license. GNU stands for GNU's Not Unix. It includes things like the GNU Libc, Bash, Emacs, a full OpenSTEP implementation known as GNUStep and various fileutils. It also includes licensing, like the GPL for instance.
This GNU project that includes amongst many things Bash and the GPL license were launched by the Free Software Foundation and Richard M. Stallman as part of the man's vision of software freedom.
Don't correct me if you aren't at least going to provide factual and true information. Again, I know what I meant and I know this stuff as I've been dabbling in it for the last 12 years if not more.
Here are some links you might find interesting if you really want to learn about this stuff, none of these will be on Apple.com (please don't use Apple.com to prove points about Free Software) :
GNU GPL : http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
List of GNU projects : http://directory.fsf.org/GNU/ (notice Bash)
An explanation of the GNU project : http://www.gnu.org/gnu/gnu.html
So to correct your post which attempted to correct mine : Bash is a GNU sub-project that is licensed under the GPL. Thank you, I knew all of that already. And technically, you're quite wrong, every GPL package that Apple ships is under GNU licensing since the GPL is a GNU project license.
I can read Wiki too...
GPL is a license. GNU is a foundation. I corrected as to the licensing terminology..

I have to wonder how many people discussing audio quality buy their movies from iTunes vs Blu-Ray.
Just asking since apparently those people are so concerned with getting optimal performance from their media.
Not to take this off topic - but too many people have been duped by all the streaming serves and cable companies to believe they're getting a true HD experience when, in fact, they aren't because of the astronomical bitrate difference between what can be streamed vs delivered by hard media at current.
Not me. Most movie viewing comes from my collection or from Netflix. Netflix BDs in the mail, that is. And over half of the reasoning for that is the audio. I had great audio before great video.
Currently trying to decide how to begin purchasing music again. I've been out of the market for years, except for a couple CDs here and there and about 6 downloads, ever. Should I hunt down 24/96? Should I upgrade my TT and focus on vinyl? Or is CD going to have to be good enough? Possibly even some downloads for the kids' stuff to save cash.

maybe our day will come soon,
next tuesday or following tuesday ... with iPad 2 cranking out sales like anything, you need time for releasing products
before summer will be cool, white macbook and mac mini updates.

And it also happens to be much larger than the iPhone 4...

I agree. My friend has an HTC with Sense and I love it compared to my slow Samsung TouchWiz interface. It's gotten better with Froyo but still very sluggish.
As soon as Apple fixes the damn notification system and...preferably gives us some kind of option of customization of a home screen or something (just so its not just a bunch of useless icons), I will switch back to the iPhone. I kind of miss my 3GS.
Touchwiz! Thank you! I should just remember Cheesewiz :D

"Still, he said, the company expects it to take three to five years for the effort to really pay off."
This is great news! When the Zune is at its peak in three-five years, it can coincide with the first release of Vista in 2009-2012.
-_-
I hate the name Zune.

So sincere curiosity here: I've read the reviews and it seems like this browser can't do all the Flash-related stuff a personal would normally want to do, ranging from some popular video sites like Hulu to Flash games. I'm not missing Flash on my iPhone or iPad one bit, but I'm also a little curious at this browser's success. Is it mostly people downloading something because they feel like they're getting a thing they were told they couldn't get? Or does this product actually offer something excellent?
You're absolutely spot on here. Nothing excellent, just a short-term sense of victory over a perceived hurdle for lots of folks. I persinally have no use whatsoever for Flash on my iphone so I did not buy this app.

I want a way to see how much space the trash is taking up before I empty it. Is there a way? There was in OS 9 and OS 8.
It's quite simple:

After the Month of Kernel Bugs, are you concerned about Mac OS X security?
No - 62%
See, that bugs me. Everyone should be concerned about security. I believe OS X's overriding security feature is obscurity, and once that situation changes I can see the OS falling over very quickly.
One of the weakest links in the chain is the user, and if the user is not concerned then you have a problem.
Dont get me wrong, I think OS X is great, but it just hasn't been "weathered" in the wild like Windows has. If OS X becomes a viable target then we're in for a bumpy ride.
OSX is based on FreeBSD, which has been around for an eternity and includes modules from even older Unixy stuff. There's paying attention, there's worrying, and then there's running around with your hair on fire digging for a bomb shelter with your bare hands. We're at the pay attention stage.
MOKB showed that the kernel can be a source of bugs and that OS design should incorporate this problem into the design. This doesn't mean panic or worry or take a pair of scissors to your broad-band connection, this means Apple has some things to fix. It also showed that wireless is inherently insecure and the problems with drivers can affect Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.
Again, MOKB isn't all that important, it's Apple's response to problems that really matters.

I kinda like it I guess, after all that has always been the Apple way, they coined the term "Desktop" with Lisa because they were trying to emulate the stuff you had on your desk (When demonstrating Lisa Write they described creating a new document as "tearing off a clean sheet of paper"), BUT like others, I like having my neat, clean PC interface for my calender, hopefully there will be a "classic" mode.

Just incase I get killed tonight, I'm pretty sure that eldiablojoe and Nies are the WW's.
I've added eldiablojoe to my list because when he is a wolf, he acts extremely gullible. When he was the seer he did not.
In this game, he said he didn't know what was going on in the narratives, and he seemed unaware that roles are chosen by random.org so it wouldn't matter what roles he had previously.

Are you the same NickZac who posts in PRSI?
I don't know what a PRSI is. Grr
You know, it's almost like you meant "idol" in jest, and people are taking you seriously... :D
I shouldn't complain too much...least people here take me crazy :(

There was no reason why this issue shouldn't have been resolved at the Apple store level. That store manager deserves needs to be enlightened.

That low price sells?
According to your past posts, selling phones at a low price ($49 in this case) is a sign of desperation, of an attempt to flood the market.
Heck, that's far cheaper than BOGO sales for other handsets where two people have sign long contracts.
Or, could it just possibly be that people aren't always swayed just by price? That the device itself could be a major factor?
Are there any carriers not giving away at least one free Android phone...

It could be apps for AppleTV. I think there have been some clues of the xMac though. Mac is in the name here. AMD GPU drivers have been added to OS X. But the problem is it seems the market is headed elsewhere.
